Hey everyone, Sorry updates have been few and far between the last little while, but I have been in between collecting daughters, move-outs, and flights to the west coast – not to mention a full workout schedule, and articles to write! I am here in Portland with my family on a summer vacation for the next week. Rachel has an itinerary of touring Portland planned! Today

She was motivated to lose the weight by wanting to enter a beauty contest for Mrs. West Virginia. She's worked out every day since October and has kept to a strict diet. She's been able to work out even though she works as a nurse and has two kids under the age of 2 at home. Check out her story and some larger pics here.
Man I'm having a hard time doing number 2(berak la apa lagi) these past 2 days. Also I feel so bloated. I think because I didn't drink enough water during fasting. I also tertelan a big chunk of F1 during sahur this morning. Terkejut oh my tekak and now it's sore.
I have to find a solution for constipation during fasting using HL.
Sahur
3F1 + 1F1 + 100ml soy + 100ml water
Iftar
Nasi
Chicken curry 2 fillet
Cabbages and carrots stir fry

I'm going to fast tomorrow and InsyaAllah, if tabah hati I will continue until Thursday. Truth be told, I don't know how many days I didn't fast on last year's Ramadhan. All I know my mind keeps telling me the number 9. So 9 days worth of puasa ganti it is. I'll just try not to think about it. :D
So right now tengah browse on other HL blogger's fasting menu's.

My current weight is 67.7kg. Alhamdulillah.
I've succeeded sacrificing my favorite food for fashion.
Recently I went to Nichii @ The Curve and about 4 beautiful blouses couldn't fit me. The last piece I tried on was a satin blouse and the biggest they had was size L. I came home empty handed. Frustrated and believe it or not, my motivation for not over eating are those blouses that I wanted to buy so badly.
Remember when I told you guys I was 70kg-69kg on and off? Well, the weight just came off within a week of eating less and drinking lots of water. That means 2.3kg in a week. I feel like last minute studying for an exam wahahahaha.
Also not forgetting the TBL competition helps me motivated too.
These are 2 day menus:
All shakes are mixed with 100ml water + 100ml low sugared soy
(24/6 - Wed)
3F1
1/4 Papaya, 1 Tablerone, keropok ikans
Teamix
Teh Tarik @ Rasta
2F1
(25/6 - Thu)
2F1
1/4 Papaya + stir fried cabbages and lady's fingers
1 cup organic cocoa + 3 Biskuat + 1 sausage + 2 nuggets

Kelsey-Lynn's graduation ceremonies are never ending this year!! Not that I mind. She had her ballet school graduation a few weeks ago, prom #1 just after that, prom #2 last weekend, and now high school graduation! We will be driving to Belleville yet again today to celebrate one last time. I'm excited for my little one. She's been away at ballet school since she was 12 and only had 1 month off
My daughter’s prom has come and gone! The first part of the day was spent helping Kelsey and her fellow prom committee members run around all as they decorated their prom venue. They did a beautiful job! After all of the prep was over, the girls scurried up to their rooms to get themselves ready. Hair, make-up and outfits had to be ready for their big night! After what seemed like hours of
I don't know whether eating Toblerone chocolates and eating keropok ikan is what you call detox. :P But anyways, I've been getting great results from this semi detox and not cheating between meals. Basically I'm losing 0.3kgs-0.5kgs each day. So in that case, I'm going to pursue this eating habit until larat lah.
Here are menu's within 2 days. I'm just gonna put it detox because I'd like to think I'm on a detox still although I've cheated eating chocolates and keropok.

Detox Day 4 (22/6 Mon)

and I even managed to lose 7.6 pounds.
I gotta tell you, I super burned-out on blogging. Both my blogs. Just up and got pooped. Got pooped of emails, too, and Facebook and MySpace and sorta just wanted to do "in the real world" stuff. :)
But this past week, I started dropping in to see what fellow bloggers were doing and, yeah, decided to check in. How motivated I am to blog is up for grabs. I don't feel as if I've got the blogging mojo back. But I do apologize for dropping off the internet cliff.
So, on the happy side, I'm still doing my Pilates, only 2x a week instead of 3x (to save some moolah). I continue to progress nicely and feel very strong under all the flab--nice and firm legs, easier to do things during my day. Even hubby mentioned I didn't tire out as fast when we went out on "dates." I even managed to make it through a day at an anime convention on 30 minutes sleep. And was able to enjoy a rock concert last week and fit in the seat and dance around and still feel vim and pizzazzy at midnight. :) So, exercising and eating better (not perfectly) has had some life-enhancing effects. Sex life is rocket-hot, too. Stamina is way up and flexibility is so much better. :D
We celebrated our 26th wedding anniversary this month, and I still feel like a newlywed. So, life is pretty good in various areas.
Eating, well...I joined an organic food-buying coop a few months back, so my produce intake is good. But my caloric intake continues to be my big burly beast. Though I've lost just over 7 pounds since my February, not a lot, mind you, but encouraging since it's progress, I continue to be stuck in the seventies. I think if I lost enough to get to the low sixties this year, I'd consider it a major win. Honestly. I don't know why it's so hard to get out of here, but it is, which is maybe why blogging lost its allure. I seemed to be treading water.
Still, the quality of life is so much better eating more produce and exercising regularly, that I fear losing the ground I have gained. And, as I've posted in the past, like Lyn's recent post on Escape From Obesity blog, I really have a terror of worse sagging skin. I have some from the nearly 30 lb loss, and I don't like it.
Ah, well. Humans are complicated, and fat humans trying to stop being fat humans even more so.
I will say that on June 30 will be my one year anniversary of training one-on-one in Pilates, and I continue to happily recommend this form of exercise for the morbidly obese and those with joint issues. I've had no injuries (though lots of post-workout soreness), and I can feel the change in how I move and my strength and my sense of body control. It's really nice.
I never was able to keep exercising regularly for more than a few months, and that was maybe 3 spurts in my nearly 50 years of life (mostly when I was younger). Now, I'll have been doing this for a whole year, with only one short break in winter when my asthma acted up fiercely. I'm really pleased with that accomplishment. I want to be able to say next June that I was doing it faithfully for two years....and so on.
And that's my update. I'll hope to get back to posting with more regularity, and maybe announce finally leaving the 270's behind....please, please, please God.
Hope you are all progressing. :)

The photo shoot scheduled for last week was rained out so we are trying again today.Thought I would say hello and happy Monday to all of you!!Here's hoping we get some great shots, and no rain!!-TRp.s. Just had some yummy fruit & protein smoothies! Delish!
These are my menu's for the last 3 days of HL detox(19/6-21/6). Nothing special. Only that I didn't take Teamix. It makes me moody for some reason. Probably due to the alleviated heart beat.

He is elated about it. He says he feels so much better due to the new diet and exercise, he feels it's even cured his manic-depression.
He says that in the first month "I did without bread, potatoes and sugar, and the weight rolled off." Later he dropped red meat. He's going to the gym and doing a lot of outdoor walking. He says the audiobooks he listens to on his walks have helped enormously.
See his story and the wonderful before and after photos at the Daily Mail.
Happy Father's Day to all of our Clean Eating dads out there!!My dad was a huge influence in my life and I miss him dearly, especially on this day. He was a huge reminder to me of how important it is to take care of yourself. He died of a heart attack way too young, and I don't want to follow in his footsteps. While I will be thinking of him all day long, I will also be celebrating with my husband
I feel like quitting detox today. I'm soooo tempted to eat in Kanki Restaurant @ One Utama. Reaching to 66kg's is quite tough. 3 kg's to go. I'll add in my progress after my 7 day detox.
1 more day of liquid diet. I'll try and add fish or unagi in my detox for the other 4 days so that I won't crave so much :D
No more slacking. I wanna surprise my parents on the 4th of July. Last time I visited them I was 80++kgs, one year ago.
Kena berdoa setiap hari so that I am strong enough to go through all this.

I drove to Belleville yesterday to help my little ballerina get ready for prom. We're in Prince Edward County at Waring House dodging rain clouds!!! Hopefully they stay away in time for pictures.Kelsey-Lynn & her friend Sam are on the prom committee and boy are they the creative masterminds!! I think these girls have a career in party planning ahead of them. The girls are running around in the
Tonight eTalk (CTV) will be airing another Eat-Clean Diet segment, which includes training tips. It will be airing at 7pm EST and throughout the weekend. Catch it if you can!-T
I'm on a detox again for a week. 3 days herbalife, 4 days lunch with fruits only. See how it goes lah. Hopefully will update my menu later at one go. Hubby said I look a bit kecik. Tidak la gelombon(buntal) sangat wahahaha. Also yesterday the restaurant owner of Teak 5 was surprised to see me lose weight. I haven't seen her for such a long time lah.
She said, "You day kurus dah! Nampak sangat lah." Coincidentally, I saw a BIG Herbalife bottle on her table. So I told her," Yeke? Terima kasih kepada...Herbalife"(sambil tunjuk botol Herbalife mcm buat iklan tv gitu.) I wonder if she took HL too?
But man I still have a lot to lose. Kurus sikit is not kurus banyak.
After 5 months of drinking HL shakes, I've decided that I would buy 3 flavors only: Strawberry, Dutch Chocolate and Cappucino. I'm ditching Vanilla. I have one bottle of Vanilla and it's still here left dusty for 3 months. In the end I mixed it up in my Strawberry HL bottle. It's that itchy feeling I get. I know... a little psycho :P

Tuesday's book talk was great! The topic was, of course, the Eat-Clean Diet for Men. We had a great turnout... about 40 people. The store, McNally Robinson, is a beautiful independent book store with homey feeling in outdoor shopping area in the Shops at Don Mills. It's a great concept for Toronto shopping. I'm even thinking my daughter should check out some places to live there when she moves
I've been getting TONS of emails lately regarding Eating Clean around the globe.Since I live in Canada, I am most familiar with North American products. Even some of the Canadian products I recommend (Olivina) isn't available in the US.I'm putting a call out to my international cohorts to share their tips for their favorite Eating Clean foods specific to your area. Can't wait to read your answers!

The majority of the weight loss stories I discuss on this blog are about women but I thought I'd sum up the recent stories by men for any guys who are looking. Here's a few stories that will inspire men;
Micheal Loses 50 Pounds on the Diabetes Diet
John Quits Soda, Loses 45 Pounds
Timothy Loses Fat and Gains Muscle
Phil Loses 192 Pounds
Tim Loses 128 Pounds
Lucas Loses Only 7 Pounds (His amazing Before and After Pics are shown above here) - He lost 19 pounds of fat but gained 12 pounds of muscle.
And more Men's Weight Loss Stories here.

“We all have to eat vegetables every single day, every day."
The kids helped her pick lettuce and snap peas from the White House garden. Afterwords they went inside to eat a healthy meal of snap peas, brown rice and baked chicken.

Hey folks,Busy day today at the ranch! We're prepping for tomorrow's photo shoot, which means lots of cooking, organizing, clothing selecting, training, dish washing, etc etc. We are working away like busy bees over here.As an update, my daughter is doing just fine post car accident on Friday. It was a scary day for us here. A transport trailer blew a tire, swerved, and hit her. We were all in
I haven't updated in a while because I currently have a small book for my planned diet. It's more easier for me to control my eating from my small notebook and I feel more committed with that notebook. It's also a lot more fun to think about tomorrow's menu since now I still can't eat outside food.
I have so far succeeded in eating less carbs such as pasta's, potatoes, rice and any type of noodles. My cravings are now under control. I want my eating habit to be like this kalau boleh for the rest of my life.
I'm also avoiding beef burger's and pizza's for the whole year(there are more in the list... will update later if rajin). I can be happy without them haha... betul ba..!
On Cooking Oils
If you don't know still, you should avoid using palm cooking oil in your food if you want to lose weight faster. Palm cooking oil or coconut oil has highly saturated fats and which can raise your total blood cholesterol and also LDL cholesterol(bad cholesterol). There are more healthier choices out there to substitute such as flax seed oil, canola oil, and sunflower oil. I've been using Canola Oil since 2006.
On Exercising
I'm going to start weight training again but this time it's going to be much simpler than before. The new regime will be 2 muscle's per day eg:(chest and biceps, back and triceps, shoulders can be combined wtih any other muscles) with 12/10/8 reps for each muscles. Every other days are cardio. Need to speed things up!!

Breakfast: 3F1((2 cappu + 1 choc) + 100 ml water + 100 ml cappu soy

Dinner: 3F1(2 cappu + 1 choc) + 100 ml water + 100 ml cappu soy

Recently she ditched the gimmicky way to weight loss. She went to see a trainer who told her the only way to lose weight and keep it off is to drop the pills and gimmicks and exercise regularly and eat well.
She feels she is successful in weight loss for the first time in her life. Read her story here.

Good Sunday Morning Clean Eaters,I hope some you were able to catch Episode 2 of Tosca: Flexing at 49 last night. I'm reposting a comment here about one person's horrible experience with weight loss surgery. It's a scary experience and needs to be heard. Thanks for your story!
I have been through 12 months of hell. I am pleased finally I have found someone who wants to hear about weight loss surgery gone wrong. I want to scream to anyone considering it, "DON'T DO IT".
I researched for 12 months before deciding on a Gastric Sleeve Resection. I decided a lap band wasn't for me as I trave overseas a lot and one surgeon said as I was not prepared to give up biscuits it would not work for me. 2 surgeons recommended the sleeve so I went for it.
Within 36 hours of surgery I began getting extreme pain in my transverse colon. (My diagnosis as that is the only realistic explanation, but who am I? I just live with the pain.)
I was told maybe I had kidney stones. Then maybe gall bladder. Then I had a leak (haematoma) from the staple line and the liver was affected.
Then my appendix was alledgedly gangrene.
Then I got a staph infection in the wound where the appendix was taken out.
Because of my constipation, I can't drink enough water in 24 hours, I needed a haemoroidectomy. Ohh the agony when I got 2 anal infections.
Hello, why all these infections? Ohh I have developed a blood disorder, Auto immune nutropenia (diagnosed by a bone marrow biopsy, more pain)and this means I am suseptible to infections.
Then my calcium levels in my blood are high. Oh hyperparathyroidism. We have to remove the parathyroid adenomas.
5 weeks later, anotehr staph infection. 10 days in hospital on antibiotic drips as I cant take oral antibiotics or a lot of tablets including anti arthritic tablets after weight loss surgery.
Was I told this pre surgery? No way.
Have I lost weight? Sure. I mena when you throw up at every family event and any time you eat more than 100 grams of food you sure lose weight.
I have lost 53kilos in less than a year, but have had months off work. I have had to use my holiday leave for sick leave.
Anybody considering weight loss surgery, talk to me at darlingwenda@hotmail.com
I will talk you out of it!!
The true story needs to be told. No one wants to hear it.

A fellow Clean Eater has asked a great question about the recipes in The Eat-Clean Diet for Men. My answer applies to all of the books in the Eat-Clean Diet series:I recently bought your new book, and my boyfriend and I are chomping at the bit to try the recipes. This may seem like a stupid question, but - is it okay for women who are trying to eat clean and lose weight to eat the meals in that
I'm currently addicted reading the Biggest Loser Malaysian Blogger's blog. Yang best dia, if you gain weight you get to pay up RM5 fine. Today I'm trying to control my food intake. No more buying Nescafe's and Teh Tarik packets until 2010. Ugh, I'm having withdrawal already. I'm just drinking lots and lots of water.
I'll try not to think about it. I read that withdrawal lasts for 5-7 days. After that, ok lah. This coming from Atkin's Diet e-book which I never got to really follow the diet. But I'd have to agree with the withdrawal duration though. Tu lah, sepa suruh minum minuman manis jak non stop.

Breakfast: 3F1(1 vanilla + 2 strawberry) + 100ml soy + 100ml water
Lunch: Half a papaya(small) + Caramel Latte
Tea: 1/2 bun + teamix 1 mug
Dinner: 3F1

On Tuesday I ventured to Ottawa to appear on A Channel Morning. We made some delicious food from the Eat-Clean Diet for Men. I can't find a clip of the segment online, but here are some photos from the morning... look at all that delicious food! Banana Roll Ups, kiwis, smoothies, oranges, melon, agave, flax, etc... all my faves!!
Seems you all really enjoyed the 1st episode of Tosca: Flexing at 49. Thanks for all of your feedback We had a lot of fun at the wrap party on Saturday after watching the 1st episode. Like I said, it was pretty emotional for me because it's like seeing your life flash before your eyes all over again. Competing is hard work, and it was a brutal reminder of it! I'm glad you all got an inside look
My teh tarik packets are finishing. I've made a decision not to buy any packet drinks or milo until I reach 66kgs. I managed not to buy Nescafe for a year last year and I know I can do it again this year. :)

So far so good. Hubby's idea was brilliant. I did not overeat today. The thing is when you're at a family gathering, beribu2 orang suruh ko makan. "Makan Sarah... Sarah sudah makan? Makan lah lagi, byk lagi tu... Bawak makanan balik sikit je? Kuih byk tuh!!"
Hihihi... I did eat la a bit as mentioned below. After akikah, hubby's aunty told me to tapau lots of rice. So I took one whole plastic of rice, a small container of tiny diced fried chicken and kerabu nenas and cucumber.

As for Herbalife users, don't fret... you can take a couple of days off of your 2 meals off and just replace it with 1 shakes per day only right?! We humans need to give ourselves a break now and then. Reward ourselves of our big or little achievements. You don't need to punish yourself in dieting all the time and have such restriction in your diet cause usually once you can't take it anymore... you will eat none stop. It's human nature.
You thought you've tricked your body but afterward your body in turn will trick you into eating that amount of food that you have been avoiding for so long. Yes, I'm also talking about myself on how I'm currently off of 2 shakes per day for almost 2 weeks now. So don't take what I've just said so seriously because all of it is actually pointing towards me! :P
Alright then so I've been having so much fun with food lately. I've taken only 1 shakes per day and slowly I'm taking 2 shakes again. I wanted this losing weight with HL to be a fast process but who am I kidding?! I can't take it to lose 5 kg's per month. I think 1-2kgs per month is okay but it feels like something's amiss you know? I do love experimenting though. Yes, I do a LOT of experimenting with Herbalife to see what the outcome would be like. Sorry there aren't any reports on that. ;D
I don't know about you guys but I get off of the wagon so easily. I get back on it again but not as fast as I fell from it. It's just me. I just love to push myself over the top and then as soon as I see the results, I get so happy till I get carried away. Funny thing huh. I should probably set my goals more realistic and not too easy. 4-5kg's per month is too much. 1-2kg's is not that motivating for me(It makes me so lazy!!). This time I'll try the lucky number 3. See, this is one of my many experiments. So, will I lose 3kgs within June(End of my 5th month with Herbalife)? Wait and see!!!
Note to self: Never ever quit although you have fallen a million times. When you quit, you don't have anything to work for and that is much worse than forever trying to improve yourself endlessly.

Check out this fun video below. It's educational, too. I had no idea George Bush had read so many books. What's great about this story is that people are reading. It's so hard to find time to do it, but it's so important to keep our minds active especially as we age. And it's a cheap form of entertainment, which is very important in today's economic climate. I like the anecdote about reading
...and probably your's too. I would love to cut and paste the pictures of Mel B's abs but their too sexy :D. So instead I'll just link it up here. Mel B is also releasing a workout video on 2010. With those ripped abs, I wouldn't mind buying her Dvds.
The Book Expo of America was a whirlwind this past weekend. New York City certainly wasn't a joy ride. We spent the weekend working very hard! Our green T-shirts definitely caught the eyes of lots of expo visitors, but our green bags were the big hit. We will be selling them on the website soon. Aside from being reusable, the bags also have pockets in the side for your grocery list (an eat-clean
