I just bought a body fat calipers from EGOnutritions. End of  January(26/27 like that) my fat % using Tanita was around 38%. Now it's 34%. 4 % in 2 months. Is that goood? Not gooood? I read I'm supposed to like loose 2-3% per month. Source from Stronglifts. So I think it's okay ;)

2 more weeks before I rest, if not including this week lah.

Listen to this interesting 13 minute NPR audio on Diet and Diabetes, where one doctor discusses the differences he noticed between Afghan patients and the bodies of North American patients. He says;

"Typical Afghan civilians and soldiers would have been 140 pounds or so as adults. And when we operated on them, what we were aware of was the absence of any fat or any adipose tissue underneath the skin," Patterson says. "Of course, when we operated on Canadians or Americans or Europeans, what was normal was to have most of the organs encased in fat. Day 45 of Phase 5: Cheap, but Cute, Workout Wear For Those Changing Size Every Month or Two....

I've got 4 more weeks until my big rest(16 April-for future reference). I may have dropped a size or two. The smaller training pants I bought in Kuantan that was just too small for me then(end of Jan 2011), I can now fit it. Before, it could just go through my thighs... can you believe it? I tried it before going to work today and was so happy I wanted to wear them to work!!

I'm still keeping up with my nutrition. Mostly I follow Jillians "slow oxidizer" food choices. More veges everyday, rice on alternate days(during barbell training days, 1 meal which is lunch). I can tell you that by talking about vege recipe's, I can drool.....

Hubby finished his 3 months routine and now just relaxing with swimming or jogging at the park on alternate days. Haih... best aku tengok. Jealous betul!

Aaaanyways, I have an urge to do rock climbing. I'll wait till I get more lighter then I'll bring hubby to One Utama and learn to rock climb. I want to go so bad lahhh. It's time to do some outdoor sports and not just carrying weights.

Day 37 of Phase 5: Japanese Dinner Out, Election Day, Vote For Your Health Today! And Why I Believe That Food Addiction is Possible, though I'm Not Fanatical About It! :)

I would love to do a review about Pumping Iron but heck I'm seriously penat everyday after my workout. I brought my barbell equipments to the laundry area where the thick carpet is and just campak everything there. Puas hati.

Currently I weight train every 8pm on alternate days. I was carrying about 50kgs squats today. Two weeks ago I had to reduce the same weight, less 10%. It was unbearable to my back. Unbearable to lift it. But today, somehow I became a woman hulk! Grrrrr. Of course it was much heavier but I also tried flexing my glutes(buttocks-inner muscles) during squatting up. Really... mondo difference there. Imagine squeezing a tin can just with your hands is not that powerful. Now clench your buttock muscles, the ones between your legs together with your hams and quads and squeeze that tin can... you can feel the difference. You feel stronger! Go ahead and try it.

Today I am happy that I've finally reached 50kg squat weights. The problem is that... there are NO MORE PLATES left. I haven't bought 20kgx2 plates(bigger barbells are better for deadlifts, they are more bigger and you can reach them easily than smaller ones). I told hubby that he just HAS to buy it this weekend. Otherwise I cannot move forward with this training.

My biceps have lost only 0.1 inch in the previous week. Boleh lah kan. Asal ada perubahan. Having more calorie deficits during cardio day this week hopefully. Trying to order water instead of limau ais during lunch.

Hubby's having a half a litre and sometimes 1 litre of milk diet every day. It has to be fresh milk. It drives me crazy because it's RM10 per bottle. The ones at Presto TTDI from Johor which is RM6 per bottle is the most delicious cause it's so fresh. If it's out of stock I think it's because of my hubby lol!! Moo milk in Malaysia is very expensive. I hope we breed more cows here so that the cost will reduce and that we will get more fresher and tastier milk.

Here's hoping that I can do a lot of fat shedding by end of this month.

High Cholesterol Foods To Avoid

The high cholesterol foods contain saturated fat and cholesterol. Saturated fats, found mostly in animal products, raise LDL cholesterol (bad cholesterol) level. Animal foods contain cholesterol. So if you eat these foods in excess to make your diet a high cholesterol diet, your cholesterol level rises.

You should be aware that it is not the cholesterol content of a food is harmful, its saturated fat content causes the liver to produce more harmful LDL cholesterol and triglyceride levels.

Good Cholesterol (HDL cholesterol)
- This is the type of cholesterol in the body that removes extra cholesterol from the body. The body needs cholesterol to form cell membranes, produce vitamin D, produce bile to digest fat, and many other things. Your body uses HDL cholesterol in order to remove the entire extra.

Bad Cholesterol (LDL cholesterol)
- This is the type of cholesterol that brings cholesterol to the rest of the body. Out of all the causes of high cholesterol, this has to be one of the most prominent. This type sends cholesterol to the cells.

You should limit the intake of all these high cholesterol foods. And, always pay attention to food package labels to check fat and cholesterol levels.

"Cholesterol free" written on a food is not important if it contains lot of saturated fat. For example, coconut oil is cholesterol free, but is highly saturated and is therefore not good for your heart. You should give less attention to "low cholesterol or cholesterol-free" than saturated fats on the food label. "High cholesterol foods" therefore means foods high in saturated fats or triglycerides.

Keep in mind the following when these labels say:

"Cholesterol Free" it means less than 2 milligrams(mg) cholesterol and 2 grams or less fat;
"Low Cholesterol" means 20 mgs or less cholesterol and 2 grams or less saturated fat;
"Fat Free" means less than ½ gram fat;
"Low Fat" means 3 grams or less fat;
"Reduced Fat" means at least 25 percent less fat than other brands of same food.

So, "free" does not literally mean free. To give you an idea you should not consume more than 300 mg of cholesterol per day.

High cholesterol foods are mainly
1. All animal products such egg yolks, meat, poultry, fish and higher fat milk products.
2. Processed and prepared foods such as cookies, pastries and muffins contain high amounts of fat including trans-fats.
3. Deep fried foods.

You should eat the following high cholesterol foods in limit. Don't make your diet a high cholesterol diet. The following list clearly spells out how much cholesterol each food and its serving portion contains. Keep this in mind when you consume these high cholesterol foods.

Boiled egg = 1 whole egg = 225 mg
Cream cheese = 1 oz = 27 mg
Cheddar cheese = 1 oz = 19 mg
Butter = 3.5 oz = 250 mg

Beefsteak = 3.5 oz = 70 mg
Chicken = 3.5 oz = 60 mg
Kidney, beef = 3.5 oz = 375 mg
Liver, beef = 3.5 oz = 300 mg
Ice Cream = 3.5 oz = 45 mg
Sponge cake = 3.5oz = 260 mg

HL shakes is not the only protein in the world. org lain yg dpt liver problem tu, ade jgk yg tak consume HL shakes langsung dan amik mknn yg biasa korang mkn ari2, so nak blame HL shakes jgk ke? so yeah.. bukak mate luas2.

kdg2 bende ni kesalahan sendiri. bukan kesalahan product atau mknn. sbb mknn tu tade nye nak melompat masuk mulut korang kan? korang yg control brp byk dan brp kerap korang mkn sesuatu mknn, so u control what happens to ur health. nak sakit ke nak sihat? u choose.

Caffeine Intake


For children age 12 and under, Health Canada recommends a maximum daily caffeine intake of no more than 2.5 milligrams per kilogram of body weight.

Based on average body weights of children, this means a daily caffeine intake of no more than:

45 mg for children aged 4 - 6;
62.5 mg for children aged 7 - 9; and
85 mg for children aged 10 - 12.

Those recommended maximums are equivalent to about one to two 12-oz (355 ml) cans of cola a day.

For women of childbearing age, the new recommendation is a maximum daily caffeine intake of no more than 300 mg, or a little over two 8-oz (237 ml) cups of coffee.

Those pregnant / trying to conceive, should take less than 200 mg of caffeine per day (1+ tspn of teamix).

The general population of adults, should take less than 400 mg of caffeine per day (2+ tspn of teamix).
