korang2 yg bace blog aku ni.. korang sebut as WAFFLE atau WAFER? sila mengaku cepat! :P
kalo korang ade hadapi masalah nak bezakan antara WAFFLE dan WAFER, kene tau dulu perbezaan nya. apekah itu waffle dan apekah itu wafer. waffle lembut. wafer keras. ice cream cone adalah wafer, dan yg kdg2 terpacak kat atas ice cream tu wafer jgk. nipis2, keras kan? yg munchy's muzic tu pon wafer jgk. wafer skali ngup, patah trus. waffle lebih tebal, lembut dan texture lebih chewier. surface pattern waffle dan wafer mungkin ade persamaan, tp dr segi lain berbeza sgt2. kalo korang tetap panggil Waffle as Wafer maknenye korang masih tinggal di zaman 1377. sekian teme kasih. :))

First Magazine's January 10th edition will be on newsstands from the end of December to early January. 
Currently trying so hard not to snack during the night. Siksaaaaa. I LOVE snacking even until 1am in the morning. Senaman pun LOVE jugak but how to be slim if calorie intake more than I burn. 2010 was a setting point to where I have learned to love exercising. I long for it if I didn't do it for a long time. So 2011 I would try eating properly AND weight train. It's a big challenge to me because I don't rely on Herbalife anymore. I rely 100% on eating healthily and changing my lifestyle. It's quite ridiculous and feel ashamed of myself to have to wait for a year to change my eating habit. I pray that with hubby's help I will eventually get to my ideal weight.

I admit, I am not strong enough to fight my eating cravings alone therefore I am feeling with much gratitude(bersyukur) that hubby's here to help. That's what's husband's are for!

I am in my 3rd week as a pescatarian. Life resumes as normal. I feel that I'm not missing out on anything because I have always been a seafood lover.

Monday: 
5 mins running on elliptical machine.
upper body workout. added double weights with hubby's support. triceps was as heavy as 10 kgs. sakit oh.
10 mins post workout run on elliptical machine.


Tuesday: HIIT.

Wednesday: Lower Body Workout. So many dumbbells until it can't fit. Probably will try using barbell soon.


Thursday: No workout. Walking like a penguin + zombie today.
Friday: No workout. Busy sedikit with SIL's wedding...
Saturday: SIL's wedding. 1.1.11 gitu!

Result = 78.5kg
Weight loss = 0.2kg

Mak vs Diabetes

Salam,




Baru2 nih mak masuk spital due to diabetes level high. Masa g wat normal check tuh, mak cakap sampai tak dak reading lah :-s... max ker aper, xtahulah aku huhuh :-s. Last2 kena tahan.

Abah yang kat umah, dok tunggu punya tunggu, punya tunggu, mak tak balik2... lain macam jer nih. Nak call, mak mmg tak bawak phone masa kuo umah. Sebab normal checking je, biasanya mak akan pulang ke sarang seperti biasa [chewah]. Hari tuh, xbalik2 :-s. Risau lah ayahanda beta, akekeke :P... sapa tak sayang binik ooii <-- kata PRamlee dalam hati abah! >:)

BTW, berat mak turun mendadak dari 42kg [ker 41kg?] ke 31kg. Then masa g check tuh, nek 38kg [which is good lah, tapi yang tak good nyer, bender lain pun naik - diabetec level nyer :(]. Pulak tuh, kebetulan jari mak tercucuk tulang ikan dan nampak le biru jari nyer, menambahkan lagik sebab musabab kukuh nyer spital nak tahan mak.

Anyway, mak dah kuo spital, so far, reading dah turun. Berat pun naik balik ke 38kg - as for now. Doc cakap, nak makan aper tak kisah, cuma jangan makan banyak :-s... erkkk... mak aku makan banyak ker? Kalo ukur2, aku makan banyak dari mak tau... hue hue hue...

Sebabkan mak masyuk spital, semua adik2 pakat2 balik Penang. Eni balik, Nana Tona balik, Anand kurang meritau malam [meritau, meritau jugok, tapi balik awal lah jugok, chait!!!]. Sekali berkumpul dah macam balik raya pulak sebab semua ada wahahah!!! :)).

Seminggu yang lepas nih, kehidupan aku banyak di Balik Pulau [konon]. OT X'mas pun xmai sebab g spital. Yg lawaknya, hari ke2 mak masuk spital, aku xg OT gak [harik 1st mak masuk dah petang, dapat tahu dekat2 nak balik keje, malam spital kerajaan straight sket nak kasik orang masuk, so aku decide balik esok pagiknyer]. Sampai2 spital jer, mak tanya aku:

Mak: Hariknik hg keje ka OT?
Aku: Tak keje, OT mak. Tapi cek tak pie lah, cek cakap, mak masuk spital.
Mak: OT? Isykh, rogi2...
Aku: Wahahahah!!!

Petang nih aku balik Balik Pulau lagik... Becoz i windu my mummy lah <-- bukan mumia. :P

The Balance of Glucose and Insulin:

Diabetes is a disorder that affects the way your body uses food for energy. Normally, the sugar you take in is digested and broken down to a simple sugar, known as glucose. The glucose then circulates in your blood where it waits to enter cells to be used as fuel. Insulin, a hormone produced by the pancreas, helps move the glucose into cells. A healthy pancreas adjusts the amount of insulin based on the level of glucose. But, if you have diabetes, this process breaks down, and blood sugar levels become too high.

There are two main types of full-blown diabetes. People with Type 1 diabetes are completely unable to produce insulin. People with Type 2 diabetes can produce insulin, but their cells don't respond to it. In either case, the glucose can't move into the cells and blood glucose levels can become high. Over time, these high glucose levels can cause serious complications.

Pre-Diabetes:

Pre-diabetes means that the cells in your body are becoming resistant to insulin or your pancreas is not producing as much insulin as required. Your blood glucose levels are higher than normal, but not high enough to be called diabetes. This is also known as "impaired fasting glucose" or "impaired glucose tolerance". A diagnosis of pre-diabetes is a warning sign that diabetes will develop later. The good news: You can prevent the development of Type 2 diabetes by losing weight, making changes in your diet and exercising.

Type 1 Diabetes:

A person with Type 1 diabetes can't make any insulin. Type 1 most often occurs before age 30, but may strike at any age. Type 1 can be caused by a genetic disorder. The origins of Type 1 are not fully understood, and there are several theories. But all of the possible causes still have the same end result: The pancreas produces very little or no insulin anymore. Frequent insulin injections are needed for Type 1.

Type 2 Diabetes:

A person with Type 2 diabetes has adequate insulin, but the cells have become resistant to it. Type 2 usually occurs in adults over 35 years old, but can affect anyone, including children. The National Institutes of Health state that 95 percent of all diabetes cases are Type 2. Why? It's a lifestyle disease, triggered by obesity, a lack of exercise, increased age and to some degree, genetic predisposition.


Gestational Diabetes:

Gestational diabetes (GD) affects about 4 percent of all pregnant women. It usually appears during the second trimester and disappears after the birth of the baby.

Like Type 1 and Type 2, your body can't use glucose effectively and blood glucose levels get too high. When GD is not controlled, complications can affect both you and your baby. Your doctor will help you work out a diet and exercise plan, and possibly medication. Having GD increases your risk for developing it again during future pregnancies and also raises your risk of Type 2 diabetes later in life.

dlm kete, break record.. tak mkn pape langsung. wahahah. tidbits tak beli, so minum air jela. bila benti baru mkn. btw, aku bwk balik sebekas Psyllium Husk dan 1 botol teamix. niat nak consume time mlm jela. pagi tu.. mcm tak sempat je.. lgpon nak travel, takut plak bladder aku active scr tetibe, eventho minum teamix skang tak memberi kesan kat aku dah.

mcm bese nenek aku membebel jgk la sbb tgk aku mkn sket sgt. soh aku tambah nasik, soh aku abihkan lauk. malang skali aku tak mampu nak telan byk2, sbb dah mkn 3 kali sblm sampai umah nenek. itu pon aku gagahkan diri jgkla mkn dinner. gulai ayam dan sayur nenek mcm bese, superb! :))

Sometimes, I just want to hit my husband while he's training me. At times while core muscle exercises, my tears just comes out because it's THAT tough for me. After done exercising, I'm back to being happy.

Syntha-6 whey protein is so YUMMY! It has that berlemak taste. Anything chocolate is goood for me.

Monday: HIIT 10 mins for warm up. Lower body workout(Bill Phillips routine still this week)
Tuesday: HIIT 20 mins with some core muscle exercises
Wednesday: HIIT 10 mins. Upper body workout.
Thursday: HIIT 15 mins + core muscle exercises with weights(some with weights(5kg) and some not.)
Friday: No exercise. 
Saturday:  No exercise.

The sit ups with 5kgs made me hurt so much. Gila oh. I can't laugh hard, it hurts even when I cough and coincidentally I'm currently coughing. Sadly it needs 2 days to recover. Monday I'll be starting full training with hubby.

Btw, there will be no free day for me this time. Only portion control. So hard to control eating when I love eating so much. A fatty's gotta learn what a fatty's got to learn!!!

Day 15 Spawn of SoDDDY Challenge: The deliciousness of fatty Cobb salad convenience, a few chilly glimpses of eclipse, and amazement at the self-sabotage all around us while I have a full-on rant about holiday food nuttiness....

Free sample Benefiber sampai kat tangan sy 18 Dec lepas. dah consume Benefiber selama 2 hari. tinggal 1 sachet lg, ade dlm 2-3 servings lg yg tinggal.

Direction for use:
Stir 1 package of Benefiber into at least 120 - 240 ml of any beverages or soft food (hot or cold). Stir well until dissolved. Not recommended for carbonated beverages.

Recommended daily dosage:

12 years to adult : 2 tsp 2 times daily. Do not excees 8 tsp per day (max 12 g of fiber)

okay.. btw, aku consume 1 tsp kecik je. tspn aku ni.. bukan tspn betul ye.. kecik je tspn aku. boleh refer pd gamba kat blog post ni. yg sudu biru tu la.

erm.. spoon tu bersamaan dgn 1/2 tspn. so basically sy amik 1 scp tu 2 kali sehari, maknenye sy amik 1 tspn per day je. same jgk utk Psyllium Husk. aku mmg tak letak byk2. nak consume brp byk tu, ikut korang la. asalkan within the limit.

ok bwh ni.. dah buka sachet nye. warna nye putih.. dan berbentuk serbuk yg sgt halus. jgn berdiri disebelah kipas ye?


bwh ni.. aku mix dlm teamix aku. nampak tak Benefiber? wahahhaa. hilang trus. payah ni tau. kalo korang jenis pelupa.. 1 hal lak kan. "eh aku dah letak ke benefiber ni? err blom kot. letak lg la". wahhaha. boleh bayangkan tak situasi tu? bg aku, itu 1 downside Benefiber. kalo dissolve abis pon satu hal jgk kan. lupe.. dah letak ke blom. sbb tade trace langsung. anyway.. aku tak yah kaco pon. letak Teamix + Benefiber, letak 1/2 gelas air panas + 1/2 gelas air room temp.. mmg dissolve dgn sendirinye.


Dari segi taste nye pulak.. spt yg derang janji.. tak alter taste food lain kan?.. yup.. mmg tak jejaskan taste teamix tu langsung. mcm tak letak pape. lg 1 downside bg mrk2 yg mmg pelupa. ehhehee.

tengahari td, aku soh mak aku try Benefiber ni. mak aku ni makhluk yg sungguh cerewat ttg mknn.. maksudnye pape yg pelik sket die mmg tamo try. tak adventurous. korang imagine, dia sembelit ke ape.. aku dok tawar amik Psyllium Husk.. bukan dia nak pon. huhuhu. so kalo die boleh consume Benefiber, korang ape lg.. mesti boleh kan? aku buat Teh Panas utk mak.. pestu letak 1 sudu Benefiber. dia tak complain pon. so kire thumbs up la ni. :D

4. disbbkan Benefiber ni senang dissolve, boleh masuk dlm pape jenis mknn asalkan mknn tu basah sket kecuali carbonated drinks. aku agak.. kalo masuk dlm carbonated drink die akan berbuih dan naik tinggi mcm letak Eno dlm air la kot. :D
5. calorie per serving (2 tspn or 3.9 g) = 8 calories
6. bowel movement erm.. takleh nak citer byk.. sbb consume tak sampai pon seminggu. so tatau pattern output mcmmane. tp aku prasan lepas Day 1 consume Benefiber, pagi tu.. membuang agak byk jgk la. ehehe. besenye tade la byk mane.

Psyllium Husk
1. tak dissolve, psyllium husk akan mengembang.
2. akan thicken kalo biar lame2, so kene minum cepat2. kalo thicken pon, ape kisah, kaco je dgn sudu dan minum mcm bese.
3. bg aku tak alter pon taste, cume sbb die serat leh nampak jelas, so ade la kasar2 sket. texture mknn akan berubah. tp dr segi taste.. awal2 tu mcm rase barli tawar. tp skang tade rase pon.
4. boleh dimasukkan dlm shakes, any hot/cold drinks and any food which are watery: like soups, cereal, gravy etc
5. calorie per serving (2 tspn or 3 g) = 12 calories
6. bowel movement aku mmg kerap dah skang. every day.. takpon ade la gap 2-3 ari, pestu everyday balik. ehehe.


Nota tambahan
- aku suke bile nampak bende yg aku mkn. kalo tak nampak ni aku rase tak puas hati plak. ye ke ni berserat? kan? so disini, Psyllium Husk elok sbb mmg nampak jelas serat nye. Benefiber, serat nye invisible.. :))
- tp bila nampak tu 1 hal jgk, sbb tak sesuai utk seme jenis mknn. even air, kalo korang ni jenis particular, mungkin tak suke la minum air yg ade bende terapung kan? ehehe. mcm aku ni dah kalis dah, ok je nampak bende2 terapung ni. so sy mcm berbelah bagi la jgk. tatau nak suke kat yg mane satu. tp dr segi kepuasan.. aku suke Psyllium Husk lagi, sbb nampak ape yg aku telan. hmm. tp dr segi kesenangan (senang dissolve dan mix dgn pape jenis mknn), Benefiber la yg menang!
- dr segi harga.. erm. tatau lg. nnt la aku try tgk2 kat pharmacy/supermarket. kalo Benefiber lg murah, then sy pilih Benefiber je. kalo korang tau harganye, meh la share sini. :D

Hubby's cousin didn't like the Syntha-6 chocolaty taste so hubby changed  his whey protein with the Syntha - 6. Haven't tasted it yet. I hope I'll like it. Chocolate flavor is fine with me :)

Update: Oh I absolutely LOVE the taste. So berlemak and chocolaty! :)

"Ingat Cheesue lagi tak?" pestu aku buat buat bunyi kur-kur favourite dia.. dia sambung buat kur-kur jgk, trus senyum dan gelak. YEAYY! wahahaha. must be a 'cancer' thing. we cancer the crabs will never forget each other. :))

tokmi dgn atok boleh plak die lupe. ape kah? siap buat muke takut lg.. siap meraung lagi. :-s

oh btw, sblm Aleesya balik aku ade timbang weight dia kan? berat Aleesya mase tu 6.7 kg, timbang pd 14/11/2010. skang dah 8 kg! gain 1.3 kg dlm sebulan lebih. rambut dia yg botak, dah ade rambut. rambut terpacak!

Today I'm giving the gift of time to my daughters! 
The last few months have been extremely hectic with work:  business trips, book launches, photo shoots, article writing you name it! I feel like I have had very little time for my family and myself. 
For today's gift I am taking my two daughters, Chelsea and Kiersten, to a yoga class led by my good friend Angelika for some much needed relaxation

More "Shopping in My Closets"...piles and piles of stuff, some even from the early nineties!

yer. spt yg dijanjikan, arini 1st day amik Benefiber. korang tamo free sample Benefiber ke? kalo blom, sila berbuat demikian di website Benefiber. anyway, sape tau harga 1 botol Benefiber ni, bgtau sy yer. kalo murah dr Psyllium Husk, leh switch. tp kene tunggu stok Psyllium Husk abis dulu la.

nasi kenduri tu, mule2 beriyani abih, licin.. so terpaksa aku redha amik nasi putih jek. letak la 1/4 plate nasi putih. tetibe tgh dok scp lauk, 1 bekas penuh nasi beriyani sampai plak. cess. takkan nak buang nasi putih kot kan? so amik la 1/4 plate beriyani rice. erm. aku nak amik sayur acar tu byk sket, tp.. tp.. erk.. akak yg beratur blkg aku ni lapar sgt kot, dok tolak aku kedepan. seriyes tolak betul tau. tak dpt aku nak amik lebih. T_T aku tak kenal pon dia. leh plak die berdiri rapat2 dgn aku, bdn die melekat trus kat blkg aku.. mcm pacat. ape kes? sib baik ponpuan, leh aku maapkan. kalo laki, mau aku tendang die trus.. wahahaa. :))
