Getting Super Fit with Yoga

Sting, the rock star, stays super fit with yoga. For many years now he's been practicing Ashtanga Yoga and he typically spends an hour and a half a day performing the exercises.

Here are two photos, one taken when he was 49, the other taken when he was 55 years old. That is also the same year he wrote a foreward to a Yoga book called Yoga Beyond Belief.

I've been relaxing on my shakes in week 20(1 shakes per day only). I think it's because I got so excited with my weight. I try not to torture my self today and eat rice and lauk during lunch time. Back to 2 shakes again! Although Sunday is my 21st week.

Breakfast: 3F1 Strawberry + 120ml soy + 130ml water

Lunch: Rice(lots of it!) + Indian style butter chicken + Cucumber tumis(1 whole cucumber mind you)

Dinner: 2F1 Strawberry + 100ml water + 100ml soy

Ali Lost 100 Pounds in One Year

Ali lost 100 pounds in one year. She did this with the help of a personal trainer. She is very tall at 6'1' and she now weighs 175 pounds. When she first met her trainer and weighed 278 pounds, he told her she wasn't eating enough!

He asked her to eat six small meals a day and to make sure she got lots of protein in each meal. Now she is often eating chicken or fish at 10:00 in the morning. She says she no longer craves sugar.

When she first started losing weight she lost 20 pounds in the first month and that was very encouraging. See her weight loss story and picture here.

Friday's Birthday Dinner

It was a weekend full of fun. On Friday I celebrated with 15 of my closest lady friends and family members. It was a riot! Here are a couple of pics from the night. Dinner@Rasta: Tauhu bakar + Taugeh; Rojak Mixed Fruits; Iced Tea; 2 small scoops vanilla ice cream with brownies(pau a bit of hubby's and sis in law's brownies that they shared).

Week 19: Tuesday's Menu

I refuse to Detox today because I'm not on plateau anymore hihi... Alhamdulillah. I think the 15 mins run really helps :)

Breakfast: Tuna Bun from Bread Story and Caramel Latte(Shugaahh)

Week 19: Monday Menu

I've gotta start taking food pictures for this blog so it looks more interesting :) I would be doing a 4 day detox again this week starting tomorrow. Next week it'll be 3 days only. I think it's not so bad not taking any carbs within this month. I've managed so far and no cravings...yet!

One funny thing... each time I run, I would be looking at those abandoned dumb bell's. I'd probably start weight training again soon lah since those buggers have been staring at me endlessly. It's like I have that urge to lift them. My father-in-law said if you've worked out a lot and still have a big belly it means that you haven't done enough leg exercises. I hope with weight lifting I'd be losing more weight. Malas ba tinguk slow result.


Today's activities:


Breakfast: 3F1 Vanilla + 100ml no sugar soy + 120ml water(Terover kenyang...)

Lunch: Leftover meehoon + tuna(wth?! I ate it then realized I promised not to take carbs this month. My brain forgot to remind me. Lol)

Week 18: Detox Day 4

Today will be my last day of detoxing and I will try and take my shakes with plain water too. :) For yesterday's detox I lost 0.6kgs too like in the previous day which makes me 70.2kgs now.

Breakfast: 4F1(1 cappu + 3 choc) + 200ml water
  • Yay! The shakes still tasted yummy. I thought I would puke. Alhamdulillah, I can save money and not buy soy. Not that I haven't tasted it but I forgot whether I liked it or not. I love the thickness. Hubby told me I was crazy. No human drinks that thick of a drink, hahaha. I offered him and he said,"Eee... no thanks."

Lunch: 4F1(1 Strawberry + 3 Choc) + 200ml water

Ugh... no cardio today. Feeling slightly lembik... Just had my periods today.

Week 18: Detox Day 3

Today I'm on the verge of giving up on my detox. Probably it'll be the last one today or tomorrow. But the magic word for me is TEKAD! Lost apporx 0.6 kgs in one day. I'm 70.8kg now. I think it's just water because my weight has been from 69-71 for a while now. I have been a very very bad girl. I snacked all the time, mostly on kuih and nasi! I think I was so happy I lost 10kgs so then wasn't that serious enough. Almost all the time I missed my dinner shakes and dined out with hubby instead cooking him a nice meal.

It's kinda weird that one day, which was last week, when I looked myself in the mirror and I saw myself... I am indeed still FAT and overweight! I'ts been 3 months that I still see the '70' number. So now I'm picking up myself back yet again after byk kali sudah jatuh. This time Alhamdulillah... semangat lagi kuat dari dolu2. Siap planning not wanting to take carbs for one whole month! I will try and stay motivated(reading ppl's blog and forums) so that I don't stray away. Indeed, it has become quite a depressing and irritable state seeing that I've cheated eating HL continuously... I'm also thankful that many of Malaysian Herbalifers have tips and motivational stuffs in their blog. Helped me a lot! :)

Okay, here's hoping that I lose some more weight tomorrow.

Lisa Key-Blair has lost 50 pounds in one year. She is featured in this months Fitness magazine. See her before and after photo at the link.

She gained much of the weight after her second pregnancy in 2006 and was worried about her health. With changes in her diet and exercise routine, she feels so much better now. Read her story here.

Week 18: Detox Day 2

I am going on a detox for as long as I can(okay, okay probably until this Thursday =P). There's that reunion on June 20th... Probably I'll catch a plane and go see my long lost friends? Haven't decided on that thoroughly yet. Here's my menu for today.

1 mug of Teamix and gulped plenty of water. Sweat poured out like RAIN!! ^_^
Note: I use the HL 1.2ml scoop. The tiniest scoop for every of my teamix

Breakfast: 3F1(2Choc + 1 Vanilla) + 150ml Choc Soya + 100ml water(Me like it THICK!!)

Last Sunday my daughter Kelsey-Lynn was performing her final show with The Quinte Ballet School of Canada in Belleville, Ontario. Actress and model Rebecca Romijn has lost nearly 60 pounds after giving birth to twins on December 28th last year. She says she lost the first 35 pounds within the first three weeks. Week 18: Detox Day 1

Today I'm detoxing(Day 1). I've currently added one F1 scoop in my shakes. The cravings have disappeared and I'm happy.

Breakfast: 3F1(1 Vanilla, 2 Strawberry)+150ml water+150 soya

Lunch: 2F1(Strawberry)+1F3+150ml water+150 soya

Dinner: 2F1(Strawberry) + 1F3 150ml water+ 150ml soya chocolate

Supper(Ter pegi Ikano): 1 Sushi Salmon, 1 Sushi Unagi, 1 Caramel Latte

Before this 2 scoops of F1 was fine for me. But it took me 2 and a half months to realize that I needed more scoops for my meals. Lambat pick up betul. Indeed my metabolism has increased therefore I need more protein for my body.

1 extra scoop of F1 really makes a difference. I wish I could turn back the time but ah well... that's a mistake I must learn kan.

Received 7 bottles of Formula 1 today. Of course 3 bottles are for my sister in law(all 5 cappu flavor). I have to take those 5 bottles at TTDI post office within 7 days. Bummer. The 2 arrived at my doorstep.
It's a wonderful day to be celebrating US and all we do. We're mothers, sisters, daughters, aunts, friends, and Clean Eaters. To take on so many roles and wear so many hats can be exciting and overwhelming at times. I encourage you to enjoy this day (or the day you've set aside to celebrate) as your own. Don't forget... taking care of you means you can be a better mom to everyone else who needs

I'd always detox once in a while and when I'm in the mood to do it, I would go and find sample menu's. The menu's would always end up somewhere in my pc unorganized. So in the end, I would like to dedicate one post which is this one to list down all the Detox menu I can find. It will be updated gradually.

After sharing a big platter of seafood with hubby and my cheeky son, I went over to Brand Outlet and walked over to the Plus Size section to feed on my curiosity cause I felt that my pants that I just bought last month where much much bigger than usual. I was thinking to myself, "had my pants grown bigger or have I lost a size?"

I took the size 12 black pants and went straight to the fitting room. I soon found out that it fit perfectly! It was really a surprise to me and indeed I lost 2 sizes although my weight is still 69kgs.

I've been detoxing again this month. I'm also controlling my carbo intake this month cause I am soooo desperate to lose 4-5kgs. I'm stuck in a plateau for how long I don't know and it's all because I eat rice everyday for lunch. But the best thing is that I lost 2 sizes already!! :)

Marie Osmond on Weight Loss

Marie Osmond, age 49, lost 45 pounds 2 years ago and has managed to keep it off.
She dropped from a size 12/14 to a size 2/4. She says it only took her four months to do this. She now weighs about 120 pounds (she is 5'5" tall) and is a spokeswoman for NutriSystem. See some great before and after photos of her here.

The Best Sources of Protein

A high protein diet is increasingly being recommended for fast weight loss. A friend of mine needs a hernia operation and he was told he had to lose almost 25 pounds in less than three months before the operation. A hernia operation is much less risky if there is less stomach fat. He has been placed on a high protein, low carb diet. It's not recommended for the long term, but as a fast way to lose the extra weight.

The Harvard School of Public Health has a great article about the best sources of protein. They say the best sources are fish, beans and chicken.
